Leadville - Timberline Lake Hike

Not much to say about this hike, really. 2.5 one way from the Timberline Lake Trail Head just above the May Queen Campground at Turquoise Lake. The trail ascends, sometimes steeply, from the parking lot up to the lake. Nice juxtaposition with the hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park as I was alone for about an hour upon reaching the lake. The trail passes through a beautiful forest of Blue Spruce interspersed with high alpine meadows.

While the lake itself may not be as scenic as the lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park, with the sheer cliffs and looming peaks, it more than makes up for it in quiet and relative solitude.
